Which is the best post in SSC CGL exam and has the good salary?

I’m thinking about to join SSC CGL exams this year. Could you tell us what is the best post in SSC and how much is the salary of that post? Please explain these aspects in detail. This information will be very useful for us.

You may work under Assessment or Non-assessment section.  The First is a desk job and next is Field work for conducting raids on tax-evaders.  One can work from this position to the top spot before retirement.  The top post that you can achieve is Commissioner of Income Tax
